Call for Artists: Be Part of Croydon’s Contemporary Art Fair
Posted Thursday 2 April 2026
Croydon’s getting its own contemporary art fair – and we’re looking for local artists to be part of it!
For one weekend this June, the Whitgift Centre will be transformed into Art On Our Doorstep: a major pop‑up gallery spotlighting exciting contemporary work from artists with a Croydon connection.
In partnership with Turf Projects, the fair will bring together a curated exhibition of up to 30 artists selected through an open call, alongside artwork by local young people and community creators.
We’re inviting professional artists born, based or practising in Croydon to apply.
Whether you work in painting, drawing, photography, textiles, mixed media, digital, collage, ceramics or small‑scale sculpture, we want to hear from you.
Artists can propose new or existing work and will receive a £500 stipend to support their participation.
Running from Friday 12 – Sunday 14 June, the weekend will also include the unveiling of the Croydon Masterpiece – a brand‑new artwork created with local residents by award‑winning artist Rachel Gadsden.
Visitors can also enjoy hands‑on creative workshops for all ages and Turf Projects will host an Open Studios, welcoming everyone to explore their studio space inside the Whitgift Centre.
The art fair runs alongside The National Gallery: Art On Your Doorstep, which sees reproductions of 30 paintings from The National Gallery exhibited across Croydon until 5 July 2026. It features works by famous artists including Gentileschi, Van Gogh, Monet, Turner, Renoir, Picasso and Stubbs.
Art On Our Doorstep will put 30 Croydon artists in the spotlight to complement the National Gallery artworks, and celebrate Croydon’s incredible home-grown talent.
If you’re a Croydon artist ready to showcase your work, we’d love you to apply.
