Part of A Very Croydon Christmas
Friday, 4.30pm – 8.30pm in The Queen’s Gardens
Saturday – CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER (Some of the neon murals will be moved to Croydon Clocktower)
Visit The Queen’s Gardens to see it illuminated by a free display of neon light murals.
As the sun sets, walk through the gardens lit up by colourful light displays inspired by the notion of a place we call home – including neon living room furniture!
This Is The Place not only explores themes of home, belonging, and migration, the installation also reflects on the connection to our ultimate home, Earth.
It is commissioned and presented by Emergency Exit Arts.
In a change to previous listings, the neon lights installation This Is The Place by Emergency Exit Arts will only be visible in The Queen’s Gardens on Friday evening. This is due to the high winds predicted and yellow weather warning issued by the Met Office. On Saturday, some neon murals will move to the Croydon Clocktower and can be seen throughout the day. Thank you for your understanding.

Please note: Due to the predicted gusty winds this weekend a decision has been made that the safest place to install ‘This Is The Place’ is on the lower level of The Queen’s Gardens. This unfortunately means that a large part of the installation will not be accessible for wheelchair users or those who need step-free access. Some of the installation will still be accessible from the main pathway and some of the lower-level installation will be visible from the main path. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause.
