The weekend opens with a Family and After-Work Carols in the Braithwaite Hall on Friday 6 December led by a brass quintet from the London Mozart Players.

In and around North End and Croydon Clocktower, you’ll meet some extraordinary creatures including the fantastic folkloric Ghost Caribou, majestic peacocks and Indian elephants. But watch out! Baba Yaga will also be there and she has her eye on your presents!

In Croydon Clocktower you can create beautiful festive crafts including vintage-inspired floral headbands; Ukrainian folk decorations; tinsel from recycled plastic bags or even art print your Christmas dinner!

Take part in a dance workshops, see poetry, puppet and dance performances, hear stories from the Caribbean and South Asia, listen to a Mariachi band and get your face-painted with a festive design.

Take a stroll through The Queen’s Gardens to see it illuminated by a free display of neon light murals. As the sun sets, the gardens are lit up by colourful light displays inspired by the notion of a place we call home – including neon living room furniture!

We will see you there, and wish you all A Very Croydon Christmas!

In a change to previous listings, the neon lights installation, This Is The Place by Emergency Exit Arts, will only be visible in The Queen’s Gardens on Friday evening. This is due to the high winds predicted and yellow weather warning issued by the Met Office. On Saturday, some neon murals will move to the Croydon Clocktower and can be seen throughout the day.

Other events, in particular the puppetry and performances, may also be subject to change due to the strong winds forecast. This includes the Ghost Caribou, Baba Yaga’s House, Peacocks and Elephants.
