Martial arts fanatic Ria will stop at nothing to ruin her sister’s romance with Doctor Salim in this riotous comedy mashup from the creator of Channel 4’s We Are Lady Parts. Polite Society is a riotous mixture of martial arts and sisterly love, completely upsetting the usual dynamics of South Asian family drama. Ria is a teenager obsessed with becoming a stunt artist, and looking out for her sister, Lena, a disillusioned art student. When Lena falls under the spell of Doctor Salim, much to the delight of her parents, Ria smells a rat – and doesn’t think much of his mother either! It’s her duty to ruin the romance, and nothing will stop her.
