Subrang Arts hosts ‘Kalasetu’ – building cultural bridges‘ with music and dance through a unique Indo Spanish cross cultural collaboration with leading sitar artist Mehboob Nadeem and Flamenco artist, Ramon Ruiz together with Hanif Khan on the Tabla, leading Flamenco dancer Rebeca Ortega and Kathak dancers Mira Salat and Shyam Nayan.

The mesmerising concoction of music, voice, rhythm and dance explores the intercultural journey undertaken by the gypsy tradition of Flamenco into its Indian roots along a path that returns to North India in an emotional encounter between Flamenco music, voices, hindustani compositions, Kathak and Flamenco dance techniques.

The artists embark on a musical journey that transcends borders and celebrates the rich tapestry of sounds and rhythms. These cultural interactions highlight the beauty of shared heritage and the ways in which music transcends borders.

This event is part of Croydon Remix, the closing weekend of our year as London Borough of Culture.
