We’re on the lookout for brilliant makers, artists and food traders to join Surprised! – a wild weekend in Croydon celebrating East, West, Central and South Asian culture and community on Sat 16 and Sun 17 May.

Inspired by Henri Rousseau’s painting Surprised!, this free event bursts with energy – vibrant dance curated by Anusha Subramanyam and Beeja Dance Company, music led by Shri Sriram and Drum the Bass, a daytime disco, outdoor arts, hands-on workshops – and, of course, amazing food and markets.

We’re inviting applications from stallholders selling:

  • Handmade and artisanal products
  • Arts, crafts and design-led goods
  • High-quality Asian food, drink and specialty goods

If you’re passionate about what you make, care about quality and love connecting with local audiences, we’d love to hear from you.

The market will be curated, with a limited number of pitches, so get your application in and tell us what makes your stall special. Applications are open to be part of the Saturday, Sunday or the whole weekend.
