Croydon is throwing open its doors for Open House Festival 2025!
Everyone is invited to explore the borough’s architectural icons and historical gems, with over 20 free events from 13 – 21 September.
Festival highlights include…
Discover brutalist landmarks, such as the iconic ‘50p building‘, on a walking tour with John Grindrod (author of Concretopia and Iconicon) [SOLD OUT].
Explore historic sites such as the Whitgift Almshouses, Shirley Windmill and Croydon Minster.
Enjoy open days and creative workshops at Stanley Arts, the Museum of Croydon, and the Norman Fisher Observatory.
Join the reopening of Sanderstead Library as the future home of The Story Sanctuary – a creative health and wellbeing hub.
Croydon Town Hall Tours, including step free and BSL interpreted options.
Visit Pollock’s Toy Museum for Blocks, Rods, Bricks and Fiddly Bits. Try your hand at vintage construction work on a miniature building site or join Sunday workshops creating giant lightweight structures with architect Ambrose Gillick’s ingenious and fun Mapl system.
Will Noble, author of Croydonopolis will give an in-depth talk on the fascinating history and legacy of the once world-renowned Croydon International Airport.
The Gigglemugs visit Croydon Town Hall. Join storyteller Bernadette Russell as she tells the tales of the amazing Gigglemugs, and the day that they uncovered the incredible and surprising secrets of Croydon Town Hall. Designed for children aged 5 – 8 years old (siblings and grown-ups welcome).
