Ugandan brick maker Isaac and US film fan Alan team up to produce action films for a receptive local audience in this entertaining documentary.
Black History Month screening. Fuelled by a love of 80s action movies, former brick maker Isaac sets up a studio to shoot his own epics, overcoming obstacles resourcefully and with the support of local volunteer actors and crew. His growing reputation reaches American film nerd Alan, who travels to Uganda to join Isaac’s outfit. Against all odds, the two unlikely friends have brought joy to the movie-hungry local audience and catapulted Wakaliwood to worldwide online stardom.
