National Gallery: Art On Your Doorstep

The National Gallery: Art On Your Doorstep is a UK-wide programme that shares masterpieces from the nation’s collection with communities. Croydon is one of 12 towns that will be exhibiting reproductions from the Gallery during 2026 and 2027.
Selected with the help of local community groups, 30 paintings will be on display in the town centre at The Queen’s Gardens, Croydon Minster, Whitgift Shopping Centre, Chapel Walk and Park Hill Park. Pieces will also be installed in Coulsdon, New Addington, Purley, Thornton Heath and Upper Norwood.
The ‘Croydon collection’ includes works by Artemisia Gentileschi, Monet, Picasso, Renoir, Stubbs, Turner, Van Eyck, Van Gogh and many more. Each painting will be life-sized, so get up close to discover brilliant brush strokes and hidden details!

A map will be available to download or pick up a map in Croydon libraries.
*One painting will be located at Whitgift Square in the Whitgift Shopping Centre and only accessible during opening hours.
