Croydon has a rich music heritage, but it also has potential for a great music future thanks to the many talented young musicians in the borough. If you’re one of those young people, are aged 11 to 19, and interested in music production or song writing, then come to visit the half term music bus to start your journey into the music industry!
This Is Croydon has teamed up with the Young Urban Arts Foundation (YUAF) to deliver exciting free workshops across half term! YUAF’s Double Decker Music Bus will be running sessions on music production as well as leading song and lyric writing workshops from February 12th – 17th (except 14th February).
The Music Production sessions will teach you the basics of creating your own music. You’ll get feedback from music industry professionals, who will support you to improve your beats and harness your sound as well as give industry advice.
The Song and Lyric writing workshops will encourage you to express yourself through spoken word. Gain performance skills, expand your creative writing and speak your mind on topics that affect you, all within a safe space.’
The bus will be open:
- 10:30am – 1pm
- 2pm – 4:30pm
Drop-in at any time, but make sure you give yourself enough time to make the most of all that’s on offer!
