Step into Art & Joy, a vibrant new exhibition at the Museum of Croydon that celebrates the power of creativity to spark connection, curiosity, and joy!

Curated through a unique co-creation process, this exhibition showcases the work of a remarkable group of participants living with dementia and carers of people living with dementia, supported by facilitators from Good Wolf People and museum staff.

Over 17 sessions, the group explored a wide range of artworks, responding with laughter, questions, memories, and inspiration. Their reactions shaped the selection of pieces from the museum’s collection.

Alongside these are their own creations: tactile clay sweets, expressive lino prints, vibrant collages, painted ceramics, and a striking mosaic tile piece. Each artwork tells a story of shared experience and creative discovery.

Visitors are invited to explore touchable artworks, an interactive “Painting to Rhythm” station – where you can create your own piece inspired by music and movement – and a collection of books where you can write your own stories in response to the paintings.
