Something Old, Some New, Something Bollywood…
You are invited to an Indian Wedding celebratory experience.
Our ‘bride’ will make a grand entrance at 12.30pm, to the sounds of drumming by the Dhol Academy, from the Croydon Town Hall into the streets and then make her way to the Braithwate Hall followed by drummers and dancers. She will be greeted with live traditional wedding songs when she enters the traditional Indian wedding altar.
This will be followed by vibrant Bollywood & Bhangra dance performances. A Bollywood band will play upbeat Indian songs and guests will get a chance to show off their best Bolly moves.
The Bridal outfit was made through community workshops, led by Caroline Jones, using pre-loved materials. The wedding altar was devised with local schools using recycled materials, led by Karen Hewitt.
